Previously, our integration only supported syncing email opt-ins, which left a gap for those of you who are keen on leveraging SMS marketing. Previously, our Klaviyo integration only supported email opt-ins, limiting your ability to fully utilize SMS marketing capabilities. This has been a significant challenge for clients looking to expand their marketing reach through SMS.

Our Solution: We are expanding our Klaviyo integration to include phone opt-in synchronization. This enhancement ensures that phone numbers opted-in for SMS marketing are treated as ‘subscribed’ within Klaviyo, similar to email opt-ins. Here’s what you can expect:

1. New Syncing Action:
   • We have introduced a new action specifically designed for syncing phone numbers.
   • This action is identified in the klaviyo.yml manifest as list_members_add_sms with the event type phone_optin.
2. Seamless Data Synchronization:
   • The default payload now includes essential contact details and marketing consent for phone numbers.
   • This ensures that phone opt-ins are correctly registered as subscribed in Klaviyo.
3. Enhanced Subscription Handling:
   • We modified the subscribe_profile method to support both email and SMS subscriptions.
   • This allows for dynamic handling based on the type of opt-in, making the process seamless and efficient.
