1 year agoProblem: Previously, we only had the capability to track ‘traffic source’ which is primarily used for traffic directed to the Share page. However, when our clients want to direct traffic to other pages on their websites, they often use standard UTM tags for tracking. The limitation in tracking just the ‘traffic source’ made it difficult for us to comprehensively analyze and report on the impact of various CTAs and traffic sources.
Solution: We’re thrilled to announce the release of a new feature: “Track standard UTM tags.” Once enabled, the system will start tracking the standard utm_source inside the existing traffic_source column. If a traffic source with the same name as the UTM source exists, we’ll combine the data into the existing record. For new UTM sources, a new traffic source will be created.
There’s no longer a need to include a separate ‘traffic source’ for tracking, making the process more straightforward for you. You can review all the existing and newly created traffic sources in the Traffic Source Report.
The new feature improves the accuracy of reporting and provides a more detailed view of how various CTAs are performing.
